Handmade Ceramics and Memorial Vessels

Each Stephan Roy Studio vessel is individually handmade. Small variations and irregularities are natural characteristics of studio ceramics and are not necessarily defects.

These characteristics may include variations in:

  • Glaze color and crystal formation

  • Surface texture

  • Shape and symmetry

  • Dimensions and capacity

  • Lid fit

  • Weight

  • Marks resulting from hand-forming, glazing, or firing

Product photographs are intended to represent the item accurately. However, screen settings, lighting, reflections, and photographic conditions can affect the appearance of color and surface details.

When a listing states that the exact piece shown will be received, the photographs depict the individual vessel offered for sale unless the listing clearly states otherwise.

Urn Capacity

Urn capacities are approximate measurements. Because each vessel is handmade, minor differences may occur.

The customer is responsible for confirming the capacity required for the intended use before placing cremated remains inside the vessel. A funeral home, crematory, or other qualified provider should be consulted when the customer is uncertain about the required capacity.

Stephan Roy Studio does not provide funeral, legal, medical, cemetery, or crematory advice.

Use and Sealing

Customers are responsible for determining whether a vessel and its closure method are suitable for their intended display, burial, niche, transportation, or other use.

Unless a listing expressly states otherwise, a fitted ceramic lid is not represented as permanently sealed, airtight, watertight, or suitable for outdoor exposure.

Customers should consult the receiving cemetery, columbarium, funeral home, transportation provider, or other applicable organization regarding its requirements.

Care and Handling

Porcelain and ceramic products are breakable and must be handled with care.

Damage caused after delivery by dropping, impact, improper handling, exposure to freezing conditions, thermal shock, unsuitable cleaning products, outdoor weather, or other misuse is not considered a manufacturing or shipping defect.

One-of-a-Kind Availability

Placing an item in an online cart does not reserve it. An item is reserved only after successful payment and order confirmation.

Because pieces are often one of a kind, an exact replacement might not be available if an order is damaged, lost, canceled, returned, or otherwise unavailable.

Product Use

Products must be used lawfully and according to their intended purpose.

Vases and decorative vessels should not be used for food or beverages unless the product listing specifically states that they are food-safe and intended for that use.

Cremation urns that have held cremated remains or another substance are not eligible for return except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Policy Relationship

The Return and Refund Policy and Shipping and Delivery Policy form part of these Terms of Service.

If a conflict exists between these Terms and a mandatory consumer-protection law that cannot legally be waived, the mandatory law will control.
